You don't have to go too far to get away from these dark and cold months - Canaries will get you warned up.
The Canary Islands are always a good option and December to April is actually considered ‘high season’ over there (as well as July and August). Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife boast year-round sun and can see you sitting on a hot, sandy beach or poolside after a relatively short flight of just four or five hours. Each island has its own character and tourist attractions, providing you with lots to do whether you are travelling as a couple, group of mates or a family. Aside from the typical holiday resorts, you can also book golfing breaks, visit Sahara-style dunes and climb volcanic mountains, so there really is something for everyone.
