Rethymno – from endless sandy beach to traditional Venetian architecture

Rethymno combines long sandy beach, traditional Venetian Architecture, cobbled streets and all the bars and restaurants to keep you going for more than the normal holiday stay.

The long sandy beaches encompass the coastal villages of Perivolia, Platanias, Adelianos Kambos, Pigianos Kambos, Sfakaki, Stavromenos and Skaleta. So if you like exploring coastal villages with a sure guaranteed long sandy beach to rest on, this is the place. If you are there between June and August, you will be joined by Turtles returning to lay their eggs.

The town has that provincial air about it, walking through the arches and cobbled paths to view all the traditional churches, mosques, Venetian mansions and so much more. Visit the harbour to rest at one of the cafes for a break and a coffee. When it comes to bars, restaurants and cafes, there simply is not enough time to get to them all. There are so many with the broadest of ranges offering both food and visual flair – authentic natural Cretan grown ingredients and steel-tech-traditional meets cavern & Venetian rock. So where else can you get this combination for a holiday where there is clearly everything for the family holiday. If you look at some of the great resorts, you will find they have all the traditional resort offers with pools, tennis, golf and spa which you have to cobine with your stay in Rethymno and everything else the great town has to offer.
